Celebrating 50 Years - DFW Airport - Elegance in Flight

As part of the celebration of DFW Airport’s 50th anniversary the Irving Archives and Museum is hosting a display called Elegance of Flight

Elegance in Flight celebrates the golden years of commercial aviation, a time when air travel was a special occasion, and in-flight luxuries were part of the experience. During this time, the emphasis of glamor was reflected in everything from the attire passengers wore, to the uniforms of the flight crew. On display are artifacts from a typical American Airlines flight in the 1950s, generously provided by Betty La Fond Sallade, a retired American Airlines stewardess. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your flight!
